Location: Based in Midland, Texas, and covers the Permian Basin and surrounding regions
SUMMARY: Technical Representatives have a major role in supporting Account Representatives through problem solving skills, product development, and recommendation writing, while providing a gateway of communication to Research and Development Technical Representatives provide support to Research and Development by communicating field needs and sharing ideas of advancing technology.
JOB DUTIES:
- Perform on-site job safety analysis, identification of sample points, system mapping, field analysis, system conditions and process application of production chemical injections
- Monitor and analyze data from processes and experiments, assist or select products in the field or from lab data
- Introduce and promote new products, write and present intermediate level recommendations
- Evaluate chemical equipment and processes to identify ways to optimize performance
- Develop a good base understanding of the different areas of Piranha, i.e. Manufacturing, Quality Control, Laboratory, Research and Development, and Account Management
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems
- Develop cooperative and constructive working relationships with other team members
- Prepare technical reports and translate data through graphs and charts including auditing current monitoring for production chemical programs
- Advise customers and internal peers on technical issues, attend customer meetings and present technical issues
- Provide assistance in the applications of products and evaluation of new products
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:
- Preferred; minimum of a B.S. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Life Sciences
- Intermediate computer skills including but not limited to typing, using a mouse, proficiently send and receive emails, navigate a web browser, proficiently input and manipulate data into Microsoft Excel, various O&G modeling calculators and other data management software
- Interact professionally with customers and field personnel, promptly addressing customer needs, have good communication skills and work well within a team environment
- Candidate should be a well-rounded individual who can successfully multi-task and transition between field and office duties
- Adhere to Piranha’s Drug and Alcohol policy and agree to submit to random drug testing as a condition of employment
- Safely operate and drive company vehicle to various field locations in adherence with Company Motor Vehicle policy
- Sustain prolonged exposure to the outdoor environment and hazardous conditions
- Willingly participate in physical labor both independently and collaboratively
- Physically able and willing to safely lift a minimum of 80 pounds, climb, crouch, bend
- Safely tip and move 55-gallon drums weighing up to 600 pounds with the use of a drum dolly
- Ability to troubleshoot and independently resolve mechanical and mathematical problems
- Proficient completion of Piranha Scientific Training/Safety Program, and ability to work in a safe manner, according to the program and customer requirements; PEC / Safeland certificate preferred
- Ability to wear all forms of required breathing apparatuses, including but not limited to a respirator, in accordance with OSHA safety requirements; OSHA Site Specific training may be required
- Forklift experience preferred
