Chemical Blender (Warehouseman)
Location: Based in Odessa, Texas, covering the Permian Basin and surrounding regions

SUMMARY:
The Chemical Blender is tasked with multiple operational responsibilities in Piranha Scientific facilities including safe and compliant blending, QC/QA, and yard management of chemical products in accordance with Piranha Scientific HSE requirements and FMCSA regulations.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Maintain warehouse organization and clean as needed
  • Assist Piranha employees working in the facility as needed
  • Receive products into the facility in accordance with procedures
  • Load and unload products from trucks and tankers inbound and outbound from facility
  • Retrieve products from vendors in Piranha commercial vehicles (if applicable)
  • Retrieve parts and items necessary for operation from local vendors
  • Complete Bills-of-Lading as needed for review and signature
  • Maintain compliant labeling of all products and hazardous materials in the facility
  • Perform minor repair work on Piranha vehicles, forklifts, and machinery as needed
  • Operate chemical blending equipment and follow provided blend sheets to safely blend chemicals and products
  • Maintain vehicles and cargo in compliance with DOT regulations and Piranha Scientific requirements
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements associated with DOT HAZMAT 49 CFR to utilize accurate shipping documents and placards
  • Comply with all FMCSA requirements associated with cargo securement
  • Utilize PPE in accordance with the Piranha Scientific HSE Policy
  • Assess storage tanks and containment for regulatory compliance
  • Properly maintain equipment (e.g. preventative maintenance and cleaning after use daily)
  • Inform direct supervisor of any concerns in a timely and detailed manner
  • Communicate received customer orders to direct supervisor
  • Communicate activities to Supervisor and Management
  • Track inventory usage and component sales through written logs
  • Ensure proper cleanliness and operation of any assigned vehicles, tools, and other equipment used in Oil & Gas
  • Track and record hours of driving and rest time to maintain compliance with FMCSA Hours of Service Rules (if applicable)
  • Always work within the Company guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain PPE in accordance with Company policy
  • Other duties assigned as needed

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Sufficiently read and speak the English language as outlined by FMCSA
  • 1-5 years manufacturing experience in chemical blending preferred
  • CDL Class A with HAZMAT and TANKER Endorsements preferred but not required
  • Minimum one-year commercial driving experience (if CDL holder)
    • Compliant with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements (if CDL holder)
    • Must have a verifiable good driving record as outlined by DOT for the past three years (if CDL holder)
    • Provide a Medical Examiner’s Certificate, to meet the CDL requirement regulated by FMCSA (if CDL holder)
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Possess basic computer skills including but not limited to typing, using a mouse, proficiently send and receive emails, navigate a web browser, and follow online instruction
  • Adhere to the Piranha Scientific Drug and Alcohol policy and agree to submit to random drug testing as a condition of employment
  • Adhere to pre-employment drug-testing as a condition of employment in accordance with the CDL requirement regulated by FMCSA
  • Sustain prolonged exposure to the outdoor environment and hazardous conditions
  • Proficient completion of Piranha Scientific Training/Safety Program, and ability to work in a safe manner, according to the program and customer requirements
  • Physically able and willing to safely lift a minimum of 80 pounds, climb, crouch, bend
  • Safely maneuver 55-gallon drums weighing up to 600 pounds with the use of a drum dolly
  • Willingly participate in physical labor both independently and collaboratively
  • OSHA, Site Specific training
  • PEC / Safeland certificate preferred
